The PNG Digital Arrival Card links a traveller's identity to a particular journey into Papua New Guinea. Complete it with your passport and confirmed itinerary beside you. Do not rely on memory for passport numbers, dates or flight details.
If the live portal scans a passport image or automatically fills a field, check the result against the biodata page before continuing. Automated reading is useful, but the traveller remains responsible for submitting accurate information.
Passport and biographical details
Use the passport you will actually present at airline check-in and PNG border control. Prepare the following information before opening the form:
- Full legal name: surname and given names as shown on the passport. Do not substitute a nickname or everyday shortened name.
- Date of birth and sex/gender: copy the biographical details from the travel document and check the date format carefully.
- Nationality: select the nationality connected to the passport being used for this journey.
- Passport number: enter the complete document number and recheck similar-looking characters such as zero and the letter O.
- Issue and expiry dates: copy both dates directly from the passport. PNG's general immigration guidance advises a passport valid for at least six months from intended entry.
- Passport image: if the live system asks for a scan or photograph, make the entire biodata page clear, readable and free of glare.
Contact and traveller-profile information
Keep contact details available that you can still access while travelling. The information should describe your present circumstances, not an old address or telephone number that is no longer in use.
Country of residence
Your current country of residence can differ from the nationality printed in your passport.
Occupation
Where requested, give an accurate current profession, occupation or status such as student or retired.
Email address
Use an inbox you monitor. Check the spelling before submission because electronic confirmation may be sent there.
Telephone number
Use an active mobile number and include the correct international country code when the form requests it.
Travel information belongs in the same preparation pack
PNGDAC is an arrival declaration, not merely a passport-registration form. ICA describes the process as collecting personal, travel and declaration information, so keep your current itinerary accessible.

The official PNGDAC update function can be used for corrections or changes to flight details, travel dates, accommodation or personal information before travel. If something changes after submission, use the current official instructions rather than knowingly travelling with incorrect data.
Individual and group submissions

Individual submission
Designed for a single traveller. Review that person's passport and journey information before submitting.
Group submission
Useful for families and other parties travelling together. Prepare separate passport and biographical information for each traveller included in the group, including children travelling with the party.
A group filing does not make everyone's identity details interchangeable. If a traveller's passport information is missing, obtain it before finalising that record.
A six-point accuracy check
- Use the passport that will be carried on the trip.
- Compare name spelling, passport number, nationality and dates with the biodata page.
- Verify any fields populated by passport scanning or automatic reading.
- Check the email address and telephone number for typing errors.
- Confirm the arrival flight and accommodation reflect the current itinerary.
- Review the declaration, submit it, and keep the resulting confirmation accessible.
When to submit the PNGDAC
ICA's traveller guidance says the PNGDAC can be submitted up to 72 hours before arrival. A newer ICA directive issued to airlines in August 2026 makes completion a pre-departure requirement before issuance of a boarding pass. The practical approach is therefore to submit within the permitted pre-arrival window and before airline check-in.
What to keep after submission
Keep your PNGDAC submission confirmation with your travel documents. ICA's guidance instructs travellers to present their passport and PNGDAC confirmation for verification on arrival. PNGDAC is not a visa; it does not replace any eVisa, entry permit or Visa on Arrival eligibility that applies to your passport.
