PNGDAC Confirmation Email Guide
After you submit the Papua New Guinea Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC) online, the official system uses your email address twice: first to deliver a 6-digit OTP that confirms the submission, and then to provide the completed PNGDAC information. Because PNG now requires the card to be completed before boarding-pass issuance, confirm that you can access this email before airport check-in.

ICA's current guide confirms that each traveller receives a unique PNGDAC number and that the completed submission can be downloaded or printed from the email supplied during submission.
The public manual does not consistently describe the confirmation as a QR-code document or promise a particular PDF attachment format. Those details can change with the PNGDAC application version, so a reliable guide should focus on the confirmed PNGDAC number and downloadable confirmation rather than invent a fixed visual design.

Submitted PNGDAC but no confirmation email?
Check Spam, Junk and Promotions
Search your mailbox for PNGDAC, ICA and the time you submitted the form. Automated government messages can be filtered by some email services.
Check whether OTP confirmation finished
Receiving an OTP does not by itself mean the full submission was completed. The official flow requires you to enter the OTP and click the confirmation step before downloading PNGDAC.
Check the email address you entered
If the email address itself was entered incorrectly, ICA's update guide says the email field cannot be changed. Make a new PNGDAC submission with the correct email address.

ICA's FAQ says to contact Immigration at the entry checkpoint
The current PNGDAC FAQ says that a passenger who does not receive the PNGDAC confirmation email should contact the Immigration Officer at the entry checkpoint.
However, that FAQ was written alongside the older kiosk-on-arrival workflow. A later official directive dated 6 August 2026 requires PNGDAC completion before a boarding pass is issued.
Practical 2026 advice: resolve the confirmation problem before airport check-in wherever possible. Do not intentionally travel without proof of a completed PNGDAC expecting to fix it after landing.

“The airline can always find it”
ICA does not publish a guarantee that every airline agent can manually retrieve a missing PNGDAC solely by scanning your passport.
“Use a kiosk after landing”
Older ICA materials still describe arrival kiosks, but the August 2026 directive requires completion before boarding-pass issuance. Do not treat the kiosk as a normal pre-flight fallback.
“Use Check Status”
The official manual documents Update PNGDAC, not a generic public “Check Status” recovery process for a missing email.

Use the official update function when travel details change
ICA's update tool lets travellers correct previously submitted PNGDAC information such as flight details, travel dates, accommodation or other editable information.
To search for the existing declaration, the current manual asks for:
- PNGDAC number
- Date of birth
- Nationality / citizenship
The update itself is then confirmed using another 6-digit OTP sent by email.

Timing
Submit within the current PNGDAC window
ICA's current PNGDAC FAQ says the card should be submitted within 72 hours before arriving in Papua New Guinea, including the date of arrival.
The separate August 2026 airline directive says the PNGDAC must be completed before the boarding pass is issued. The two rules work together: complete it within the allowed pre-arrival window and finish it before airline check-in concludes.

Does PNGDAC send a confirmation email?
Yes. ICA says travellers submit an email address to receive PNGDAC information and can download or print a copy from the email supplied.
Does the confirmation use a 6-digit OTP?
Yes. The official website-submission guide requires a 6-digit OTP delivered by email to confirm the submission.
Is there always a QR code?
ICA's current public manual does not define a universal QR-code format for the email confirmation. Use the actual PNGDAC document generated by the live system rather than relying on an assumed visual format.
Is a PDF attachment guaranteed?
The official guide confirms that PNGDAC can be downloaded and printed and that information is sent by email, but it does not promise that every version of the email will always arrive as a specific PDF attachment.
What if I never receive the confirmation?
Check spam/junk, verify that OTP confirmation completed, and contact PNGDAC support if necessary. If the email address itself is wrong, submit a new PNGDAC because that field cannot be updated.
Can I retrieve it with “Check Status”?
The official manual documents an Update PNGDAC function rather than a general “Check Status” recovery button. Keep the original PNGDAC number and email confirmation securely.
Can I print the PNGDAC?
Yes. ICA's manual says the completed PNGDAC can be downloaded or printed. A printout is a useful backup but does not replace your passport or any visa you need.
Can I complete PNGDAC for my family?
Yes. ICA supports group submissions. Each traveller receives a unique PNGDAC number, while all submitted information is sent to the email address provided for the group.
