PNGDAC Confirmation Guide
Your PNG Digital Arrival Card confirmation is the proof that your declaration has been successfully submitted. After completing the form, the official system verifies the submission with a 6-digit email OTP, then allows you to download the PNGDAC and sends the documents to the email address you provided.

How the PNGDAC confirmation is generated
Review everything carefully
The official manual instructs travellers to preview the submission and verify the accuracy of all details before sending it.
Enter your email address
Your email is used to deliver the PNGDAC documents and the OTP required to complete the submission.
Enter the 6-digit OTP
The system emails a 6-digit One-Time Password. Enter that code and select Confirm to complete verification.
Download the PNGDAC
Once confirmed, the system allows you to download the PNGDAC document immediately.
Keep the email copy
The documents are also sent to the email address used during submission. Keep that email until your trip and arrival processing are complete.
Pre-boarding requirement
Complete the PNGDAC before airline check-in is finalized
August 2026 directive
On 6 August 2026, ICSA instructed international airlines, ground handlers and check-in staff that PNGDAC is a mandatory pre-arrival requirement.
Who it applies to
PNG citizens, permanent residents and all foreign nationals travelling to Papua New Guinea are covered by the directive.
Boarding-pass timing
The notice says travellers must complete PNGDAC before the issuance of their boarding passes.
Older PNGDAC guidance still describes self-registration kiosks on arrival. For current trip planning, the later 6 August 2026 airline directive makes online completion before boarding the safer and more relevant workflow.
What is the confirmation?
It is proof of your declaration—not a visa or entry permit
The PNGDAC confirmation shows that your digital arrival declaration has been submitted into the PNG border system. It does not replace a visa, Entry Permit or Visa on Arrival eligibility requirement.
The official system assigns a unique PNGDAC number to each traveller. In a group submission, every person receives their own PNGDAC number even though the information is sent to the same email address used by the group organiser.
Keep the document accessible so airline or immigration staff can verify that your declaration has been completed.

Keep more than one way to access the confirmation
Download to your phone
The official FAQ recommends downloading the confirmation after submission or from the email onto your phone or another device.
Save a screenshot
A screenshot of the confirmation is a sensible extra backup when airport internet or mobile service is unreliable.
Print a paper copy
Printing is not mandatory according to the official FAQ, but ICA says a printed copy is a good backup if you will not have a device available.
The official PNGDAC manual says you can download or print a copy from the email address provided for the duration of your stay. There is no need to describe a paper printout as the only valid form of confirmation.

You can update changed flight information before presenting the declaration to Immigration.
Travel and accommodation
Accommodation and other editable travel details can be corrected through the Update PNGDAC function.
Most recent entry wins
If multiple valid submissions exist for the same traveller, the system uses the most recently updated entry.
Fields you cannot simply edit
Identity errors require a new submission
The official PNGDAC FAQ says the standard update function cannot change these four identity fields:
- Full Name
- Passport Number
- Nationality
- Date of Birth
If one of these fields is wrong, the FAQ recommends submitting a new PNGDAC with the correct details. The latest valid submission is then treated as the declaration.
Troubleshooting
What to do when your confirmation is missing or wrong
Confirmation email did not arrive
Check spam and junk folders first. If the PNGDAC confirmation still does not arrive, the official FAQ instructs travellers to contact the Immigration Officer at the entry checkpoint.
6-digit code is missing
Verify that the email address was entered correctly and check filtered folders. Do not assume the submission is complete until the OTP has been entered and the form confirmed.
Travel information changed
Use Update PNGDAC for editable travel details. For protected identity fields, submit a new declaration with the correct information.
No device available
A printed confirmation can be useful as backup. The official FAQ does not require printing but explicitly recommends it when you will not have a device.
Portal is unavailable
The PNGDAC FAQ recommends keeping a screenshot of the error message and contacting airport or immigration staff if the website is unavailable.
Online completion is impossible
Older official guidance provides airport self-registration kiosks. However, because the August 2026 directive now expects completion before boarding-pass issuance, resolve access issues with your airline or ICA before departure whenever possible.
Family and group travel
One submission can contain up to 10 travellers
Group submission
The official manual allows family, group or travel-agency submissions on behalf of multiple travellers.
Maximum 10
Up to 10 travellers can be included in one group submission.
Unique number per person
Each traveller receives a separate PNGDAC number even though the group documents are delivered to the nominated email.
One-time use
A confirmation cannot be reused for another trip
The official FAQ states that a PNGDAC is valid from submission until the traveller arrives in Papua New Guinea for the expected arrival date.
It is a one-time arrival declaration. If you leave PNG and later return, submit a new PNGDAC for the new entry.

Common confirmation and update questions
How do I receive the PNGDAC confirmation?
Enter your email address, submit the form, enter the 6-digit OTP sent by email, confirm the submission and download the PNGDAC. The documents are also sent to the email you supplied.
Do I need to print it?
No. The official FAQ says printing is not required. Downloading the confirmation to a phone or device is recommended, while printing is useful as an optional backup.
Can I save it as a screenshot?
Yes. A screenshot is a practical secondary backup, especially when airport connectivity is uncertain. Keep the original downloaded or emailed confirmation as well.
What if I do not receive the confirmation email?
The official FAQ instructs travellers to contact the Immigration Officer at the entry checkpoint if the confirmation is not received by email.
Can I change my flight after submission?
Yes. Flight and other editable travel details can be corrected using Update PNGDAC before entry processing.
Can I change my passport number?
No. Passport Number is one of four protected identity fields that cannot be changed through Update PNGDAC. Submit a new form with the correct details.
What if I submit twice?
The system can accept multiple submissions. The official FAQ says the most recent valid submission is the one considered current.
Can a family submit together?
Yes. Group submission supports up to 10 travellers, with each traveller receiving a unique PNGDAC number.
Is the PNGDAC confirmation a visa?
No. It is an arrival declaration confirmation and does not replace a visa or other required entry permission.
