The Papua New Guinea Digital Arrival Card (PNGDAC) is mainly an information-and-declaration form, not a second visa application. Before starting, have your passport, inbound flight details, Papua New Guinea address, travel purpose, health information and declaration details ready so you can complete the form accurately in one session.
Official information checklist
Keep your physical passport beside you. The online form requires your passport information, including identity and travel-document details.
ICA's general entry guidance states that passports should be valid for at least six months from the intended date of entry.
The official PNGDAC FAQ specifically lists your flight number and arrival date among the required information.
Use the flight sector that actually brings you into Papua New Guinea rather than an earlier connection.
You need an address in Papua New Guinea. For most visitors, this is the hotel, resort, guesthouse or host address where they will initially stay.
Be ready to identify the purpose of the trip. Your PNGDAC declaration should be consistent with the activity authorised by your visa or other entry permission.
PNGDAC includes health-declaration questions. The system may request additional information depending on recent travel, nationality, flight or public-health screening criteria.
The website workflow requires travellers to answer goods and prohibited-items questions. ICA's instructions say that if you are unsure whether an item should be declared, select YES.
What is not listed as a PNGDAC document requirement
The current official PNGDAC FAQ does not list an eVisa approval letter as a required upload for completing the card.
Financial evidence used for some visa applications is not listed among the core PNGDAC information requirements.
The current website-submission instructions require passport details but do not state that every online applicant must upload a JPEG or PNG image of the passport bio-data page.
The PNGDAC is explicitly not a visa. If your nationality or purpose requires a visa, you still need the correct visa or entry permit separately.
Passport
Enter the passport details carefully and make sure the number, nationality, date of birth and name match the document you will use to travel.
At ICA's self-registration kiosks, the passport's Machine Readable Zone can be scanned to retrieve core personal information automatically. The website version asks you to enter your personal and passport information into the form.
Flight information
If your itinerary is Madrid → Singapore → Port Moresby, use the Singapore → Port Moresby flight as the PNG-arrival sector.
Check the ticket carefully when crossing time zones. Your scheduled PNG arrival date may differ from the date on which your international journey began.
ICA provides an Update PNGDAC function for changes including flight details, travel dates and accommodation before immigration processing.
PNG address
The official FAQ requires an address in Papua New Guinea. For a normal visitor, the most practical information to have ready is the name and address of the first hotel, resort, guesthouse or private host.
If your accommodation changes after submission, ICA says the PNGDAC can be updated before entry.
Declarations
Answer the goods and prohibited-items questions accurately. Declaring an item allows authorities to assess it; hiding a reportable item can create a much larger problem.
Recent travel and public-health screening criteria can trigger additional questions within the system.
Review every answer before submission. ICA provides an update function for many fields if plans change before entry.
The PNGDAC FAQ specifically lists an email address for receiving the PNGDAC. Current instructions state that after submission the document can be downloaded and is also sent to the email address provided.
Save the confirmation locally on your phone or tablet so you can open it without mobile data at the departure airport or after landing.
Submission process
Visit the official PNGDAC website and begin an individual or group submission.
Complete the traveller identity and passport section accurately.
Enter the inbound trip information and your address in Papua New Guinea.
Answer goods, prohibited-items and health questions.
Read the declaration, confirm the information and correct any mistakes before submission.
Download the PNGDAC document and retain the emailed copy for travel.
Timing
The official PNGDAC FAQ says the form can be submitted up to 72 hours before arrival in Papua New Guinea.
This matters on long itineraries. If you leave Europe two days before reaching Port Moresby, your submission window is calculated around the PNG arrival date rather than simply the time you leave home.
Separately, the ICSA notice dated 6 August 2026 tells airlines that travellers must complete PNGDAC before a boarding pass is issued for travel into Papua New Guinea.
Group and family travel
The official PNGDAC FAQ allows a maximum of 10 passengers per family/group submission.
Each traveller included in a group submission receives a unique PNGDAC number.
The submitted group information can be sent to the email address provided during the submission process.
Corrections after submission
ICA's update function can be used for changes such as flight details, travel dates, accommodation and other editable information.
The official FAQ says Full Name, Passport Number, Nationality and Date of Birth cannot be changed through the update function.
If one of those locked identity fields is wrong, ICA recommends submitting a new PNGDAC with the correct information. The latest valid submission is used as the declaration.
