Before check-in closes
Arrive with PNGDAC already completed. The current 2026 ICA directive makes pre-arrival completion part of the boarding process.
Do not build your itinerary around the airport kiosk. Older ICA guidance says self-service kiosks are available at Jacksons International Airport for travellers who did not submit online. The newer August 2026 public notice is stricter: PNGDAC is mandatory before arrival and must be completed before boarding-pass issuance. For current travel, complete it online before airline check-in.

Information to have ready before you start
A short form can still become slow when the traveller has to search for booking references or accommodation details midway through the session.
- Passport details: use the passport that you will physically carry to PNG.
- Arrival flight: keep the operating flight number and arrival date handy.
- PNG address: have the name and location of your first accommodation or host.
- Travel declarations: answer the immigration, customs and other declaration questions truthfully.
- Working email: use an inbox you can access while travelling so the confirmation remains retrievable.
Changes after filing
What if your flight or hotel changes?
Submitting does not mean you should leave incorrect information on file. ICA provides an update function for previously submitted PNGDAC records.
Flight change
If the airline changes your flight number, date or other arrival details, use the official update function and make sure the latest information reflects the journey you will actually take.
Accommodation change
Update the record if your first PNG accommodation changes before travel. The ICA guide specifically identifies accommodation as information that can be amended.
Personal-data correction
Correct mistakes in passport or personal information rather than hoping the officer will resolve a mismatch at the border. Review the amended record before resubmitting it.

Trying to complete it too early
The official window is tied to arrival in PNG. Prepare the details early, but plan the actual submission for the 72-hour period.
Waiting until the check-in counter
Airport Wi-Fi, roaming problems, low battery or an email-access issue can turn a short online form into a missed check-in. Complete it before leaving for the airport when possible.
Confusing PNGDAC with a visa
The arrival card does not grant permission to enter PNG and does not replace an eVisa, Visa on Arrival eligibility or another valid entry permit. Visa requirements must be handled separately.
Using an old confirmation after travel details change
ICA provides an amendment process. Keep the submitted record aligned with the latest flight, date and accommodation information.
Assuming every traveller can use an arrival kiosk
The kiosk option appears in earlier implementation guidance, but the 2026 pre-boarding directive changes the practical rule. Online completion before boarding is the safe current approach.
Paying a “processing fee” for the card
ICA states that PNGDAC itself is free of charge. Be cautious of third-party pages that make an official government fee sound mandatory.
