The 30-day Easy Visitor Permit is the current standard visitor route for Indian citizens
One entry only
The Easy Visitor Permit is valid for one entry. Once you leave PNG, do not assume any unused days can be reused.
Visitor activities only
ICA expressly prohibits paid work under the Easy Visitor Permit. Employment and many business activities require another visa class.

Important: PNG and India announced a bilateral VOA agreement in 2023, but ICA stated at the time that it still required parliamentary ratification before taking effect. Current ICA eVisa eligibility continues to list India for the 30-day Easy Visitor route but not the 60-day/VOA route.

The supplied draft treats a separate applicant photo, three months of bank statements, a fixed INR funds threshold, accommodation vouchers, a CMO cover letter, a fixed 10 MB upload rule and a mandatory paid return ticket as universal requirements. Current ICA public guidance reviewed for this page does not support presenting that entire package as compulsory for every Indian Easy Visitor application.

Six-month passport validity
ICA's general FAQ states that passports must be valid for at least six months from the date you intend to enter Papua New Guinea.
Use the same passport
Apply and travel using the same Indian passport unless ICA formally updates or re-evidences the Entry Permit after a passport change.
No universal two-facing-page rule
The current general ICA guidance reviewed confirms passport validity but does not establish a blanket two-facing-blank-pages requirement for every visitor.

3. Enter passport details accurately
Keep your name, passport number, date of birth, nationality and expiry date consistent with the physical passport used for travel.
4. Upload the live required evidence
Follow the actual application fields rather than an outdated third-party upload checklist.
5. Pay the online lodgement fee
ICA states that there is no Migration Service Fee for the Easy Visitor Permit itself, while online applications attract a US$50 lodgement fee.
6. Verify the issued permit
Check the name, passport number, visitor class and 30-day stay before departure.

ICA's general FAQ says that applicants may be asked to provide evidence of return travel in some circumstances.
For Indian travellers, it is sensible to keep a confirmed return or onward itinerary ready and ensure it falls within the 30-day stay. However, current general ICA guidance does not say every Easy Visitor application must automatically include a paid return-ticket upload.

Use a PNG business visa for genuine corporate activity
Meetings and commercial activity
ICA requires a business visa when the trip is for short-term business activities such as trade missions, negotiations, commercial discussions or approved business projects.
India is not a participating ICA ABTC economy
ICA's current participating-economy list does not include India, so Indian travellers should not rely on an APEC Business Travel Card pathway.
Employment needs the proper visa
A visitor permit does not authorize paid local employment. Work-related travel requires the correct sponsored visa process.

PNG Digital Arrival Card
Complete PNGDAC before boarding-pass issuance
ICA's public notice dated 6 August 2026 makes PNGDAC a mandatory pre-arrival requirement for citizens, permanent residents and all foreign nationals travelling to Papua New Guinea.
ICA's main site says travellers can submit PNGDAC online up to 72 hours before arrival. This is more precise than saying it must always be completed “within 72 hours before departure.”
Printed Entry Permit
Carry a paper backup, but do not overstate a hard-copy-only rule
A printed copy of your Entry Permit is sensible in case your phone fails, connectivity is unavailable or airline or border staff want to inspect the document.
