Advance online visitor permit
British Citizen passports appear on ICA's current 30-day list and are marked as also eligible for the 60-day class.
Current PNG entry routes for British Citizen passport holders
British Citizen passport holders currently have several visitor-entry options for Papua New Guinea. ICA lists the United Kingdom for Visa on Arrival and also lists British Citizen passports for both the 30-day Easy Visitor Permit and the 60-day Easy Visitor Permit. For most travellers who want certainty before departure, an advance online eVisa can be easier to plan around than relying on airport processing.

United Kingdom British Citizen passports are expressly included on ICA's current 60-day list.
The United Kingdom is currently on ICA's Visa on Arrival schedule. Confirm the live VOA conditions before relying on airport processing.

Entry Permit use window
ICA says an Entry Permit holder must enter Papua New Guinea within six months of the permit being issued.
The Entry Permit becomes invalid and another application is required.
The six-month use window is different from the 30-day or 60-day stay measured from arrival.
Supporting documents
ICA's current 30-day Easy Visitor instructions list a copy of the passport biodata page as the stated supporting document. The 60-day class is also processed through the online portal and should be prepared using the live class requirements shown at the time of application.
The supplied draft treats three months of bank statements, a fixed financial threshold, hotel vouchers, a CMO cover letter, a separate sub-100 KB photograph and a paid return ticket as universal requirements. Current ICA public guidance reviewed for this page does not support presenting that entire bundle as mandatory for every British visitor.
British passport rules
ICA's general FAQ requires at least six months of validity from the date you intend to enter PNG.
The current Easy Visitor eligibility lists specifically refer to United Kingdom British Citizen passports.
The current general ICA guidance reviewed confirms passport validity but does not establish a blanket requirement for two facing blank pages for every British visitor.
Advance online route
An approved eVisa gives you a documented Entry Permit before you reach the airport.
British Citizen passports are currently eligible for both Easy Visitor classes.
ICA currently states that Easy Visitor applications lodged through the eVisa portal attract this fee.
ICA says there is no Migration Service Fee payable for the Easy Visitor Permit itself.
Both current Easy Visitor classes are single entry, so side trips can affect your ability to return on the same permit.
Verify the passport details, visa class and stay period before travel.
Visa on Arrival
ICA's Visa on Arrival page expressly includes the United Kingdom.
VOA rules can change, so check the live ICA schedule close to departure.
Do not rely on a visitor VOA if your actual trip requires a business, work, journalist or specialist class.
Use the live ICA/airport information for any current VOA charge rather than relying on old third-party fee tables.
Keep travel and accommodation information accessible in case border officers request it.
VOA eligibility does not remove normal passport, PNGDAC and immigration checks.
Return / onward travel
ICA's general FAQ says that in some circumstances travellers may be asked to provide evidence of return travel as part of the visa process.
For British visitors, it is sensible to keep a confirmed departure or onward booking accessible, especially if relying on VOA, but current general ICA guidance does not say every Easy Visitor application must always include a paid return-ticket upload.
Business travel for British citizens
United Kingdom British Citizen passports are included on ICA's current eligible passport list for this class.
The current multiple-entry class is valid for 12 months with up to 60 days from each arrival and is not available on arrival.
Visitor and standard business permissions do not automatically authorize local employment.
British traveller pre-flight checklist
At least six months valid from intended PNG entry.
Advance 30-day, advance 60-day or valid VOA eligibility depending on your travel plan.
ICA's 6 August 2026 directive requires all travellers to complete PNGDAC before boarding-pass issuance.
ICA's homepage says the card can be submitted online up to 72 hours before arrival.
Keep return/onward and accommodation details available in case they are requested.
Carry any vaccination certificate required by your origin or transit itinerary.
Printed eVisa
If you apply online, keeping a printed copy of the approval is sensible in case your phone is unavailable or airport staff want to inspect the permit.
The current public ICA material reviewed for this page does not establish a universal rule that a traveller with only an accessible digital approval must automatically be refused.
Yellow fever
The health certificate rule is an import-prevention measure.
If your travel route triggers the certificate requirement, carry a valid International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis.
Do not look only at the UK departure point; review any stopovers before PNG.
Stay compliance
ICA states that an extension of stay is not permitted for this class.
ICA says travellers should contact ICA to discuss circumstances and eligibility for an extension.
If you may need longer than the approved stay, plan early rather than relying on an in-country extension.
British passport misinformation to avoid
Incorrect. ICA currently lists British Citizen passports for 30-day eVisa, 60-day eVisa and VOA.
Do not publish a current airport charge unless ICA or the airport authority explicitly confirms it.
Not a universal Easy Visitor requirement in the current ICA guidance reviewed.
No universal tourist balance threshold of that amount is published by ICA in the current guidance reviewed.
Use the live portal field requirements rather than a universal third-party file specification.
ICA confirms six-month passport validity but not that blanket rule in the current general guidance reviewed.
Carry a printed backup, but a universal hard-copy-only ICA rule is not established in the guidance reviewed.
ICA requires completion before boarding-pass issuance and says it can be submitted up to 72 hours before arrival.
Overstaying can have serious consequences, but avoid stating a fixed universal penalty outcome without specific ICA authority.
